“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

~ Winston Churchill

Foodbank operates on a skeleton staff of paid employees, so we always need volunteers to help with the work.  Volunteering at Foodbank means you’ll make a meaningful contribution to being a part of the process to help us disseminate enough food for 109, 000 meals every day Australia Wide.

Activity is light warehouse duties, sorting and packing our fresh produce to redistribute among our charities.

During Christmas we will need additional help to collect all the fabulous Can Drives! We need fully licensed drivers plus assistants to drive a 200 Truck (standard drivers licence – 3 able bodies needed) or ute (2 able bodies needed).  This is definitely for the fit and active!  See Calendar for dates.

We provide a clean, safe and happy work environment and are always seeking volunteers to help us cope with the increasing demand from the charities we serve.

Contact Foodbank Queensland for more information on volunteer opportunities OR… Take the hassle out of organising volunteer dates over the phone and book through our CORPORATE CALENDAR.

Please note: Bookings are essential. When you book online you will be sent an automated reminder the day before you are due to volunteer with us. These specified days are intended as a workplace activity only and not for individual, private volunteering. We very much appreciate any individual interest in assisting us at Foodbank so if you would like to volunteer on a personal basis please contact our office on 07 3395 8422 or admin@foodbankqld.org.au for vacancies and availability.

Safety and Manual Handling

When volunteering at Foodbank Queensland please be aware that there are manual handling tasks required. These tasks will involve, but are not limited to, lifting, carrying and stacking products.

If you have a prior medical condition, injury, are pregnant or unsure of undertaking this type of activity, Foodbank strongly recommends you discuss these matters with your health practitioner to ensure it is safe for you to undertake these tasks. You will also be required to provide evidence from your practitioner that you are capable to undertake these manual handling tasks safely.
